Five Minute Friday: RED

Here’s my second Five Minute Friday post… the topic this Friday: red

Ready, set, go…

——————————————————————–

the color itself evokes memories of the silk blouse I wore that night when I sang karaoke for the first time.  when I laughed so hard I snorted.  when I made new memories and felt loved and appreciated.  it reminds me of that truck I used to drive.  I was trouble back then.  I caused trouble back then.   i sought trouble back then.  red seemed appropriate…

red.  rebel.  lipstick.  late nights.  dancing.  tequila… too much tequila.  laughing… lots of laughing… and rebelling, red rebellion.

today red also reminds me of the blood that was spilled on The Cross … Jesus Christ, my Heavenly Father, made the ultimate sacrifice for my red days and nights.  He took my red and hung it on the cross, assuming it at His own.  And in those moments He showed me how much He loved me, accepted me (red and all) by showing His sovereignty.

John 3:16 – 18, translation by “The Message”

“This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.”

thankful for red.  and the Cross.

  1. So thankful for red – for Jesus love – and sacrifice – for a daughter who recognizes the amazing saving grace of red
